Liquid dreams
and silent noise

In the works of Robin Vermeersch and Lorie Ballage,

there is a dialogue with the chaotic forces of existence,

where moments of tension unravel into spaces of

contemplation. Both artists confront the fluidity and

disorder of life—Vermeersch through his process of

shaping and moulding chaos into uncanny, organic

forms, and Ballage through her explorations of watery

utopias that embody the potentialities of longing and

failure. Their practices invite us to engage with the

unknown, the unformed, and the raw, where boundaries

blur, and meaning emerges from the dissolution of

certainty. In the textures, layers, and rhythms of their

works, we find echoes of a world that exists beyond the

surface—a place where growth, decay, and the cyclical

nature of existence unfold. As Vermeersch's sculptures

capture a silent hurricane of creation, Ballage’s

installations immerse us in a fluid dance between the

material and the metaphysical. Together, their works

weave narratives that question our place within the

chaos, offering glimpses of new orders, new ways of

being, and a renewed sense of interconnectedness.
