I received formal art education at the DKO in Bruges. I then studied Visual Design with a specialisation in Illustration at LUCA School of Arts (Sint-Lucas) in Ghent. Since graduating I have continued to refine my painting techniques, deepening both my technical command and my conceptual approach.

In the works brought together under the title Misplaatst, I aim for carefully considered compositions that radiate a sense of calm while simultaneously inviting reflection. Every element is deliberately placed and contributes to a precisely constructed pictorial structure. By combining objects and removing them from their original context, a subtle estrangement arises. The subject is detached from its self-evident meaning, opening space for new interpretations. This shift intensifies the conceptual weight of the work and encourages the viewer to look again, with a renewed gaze.

The paintings balance painterly craftsmanship with conceptual intent. They weave together art-historical references and unexpected erotic objects that quietly surprise and unsettle. The result is work that holds attention without demanding it — images in which the familiar is made slightly strange, and meaning is gently displaced.
